BCA Syariah and Henan Securities Collaboration Increases Sharia Financial Literacy and Inclusion
Jakarta, October 22, 2024 - PT. Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) has established a collaboration related to the simplification of opening a Sharia Customer Fund Account (RDN) with PT Henan Putihrai Sekuritas (Henan Sekuritas). This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of BCA Syariah and Henan Sekuritas in developing the sharia financial ecosystem through cross-industry collaboration by providing simple, fast and reliable sharia banking products and services.
The signing ceremony of the collaboration was carried out by the Director of BCA Syariah Lukman Hadiwijaya and the Director of the Transaction Desk Division of Henan Sekuritas Jurgantara Usman at the BCA Syariah Head Office, Jakarta (10/22/24). The ceremonial process was also witnessed by the President Director of BCA Syariah Yuli Melati Suryaningrum and the Head of the Sharia Capital Market Business Development Unit of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Doddy Prasetya Ardhana.
President Director of BCA Syariah Yuli Melati Suryaningrum said, "Public interest in sharia stock transactions is increasing, therefore synergy is needed between industry players. Collaboration with Henan Securities is part of the development of safe and trusted digital-based services for sharia investors."
Director of Transaction Desk Division Henan Securities Jurgantara Usman said, "This collaboration is an important key in achieving sharia financial targets, increasing competitiveness at the regional level, and also increasing public awareness of the importance of investment in accordance with sharia principles, a principle that not only applies to Muslims, but its values can also be applied to all members of society."
To provide convenience and comfort for customers, BCA Syariah provides RDN services that can be accessed through the new BSya mobile Banking and BCA Syariah internet banking. With these mobile and internet banking facilities, customers can access RDN accounts such as balance information and RDN account mutations. "Alhamdulillah, the ease of access and RDN services have also encouraged increased public interest, especially the younger generation, to invest in sharia stocks. Our data shows that the largest composition of RDN customers comes from the younger generation, namely millennials at 65.02% and generation Z at 19.60%," said Yuli.
Sharia investment in recent years has experienced a fairly rapid growth trend. Data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) noted that the number of capital market investors as of June 2024 reached more than 14 million. Based on IDX data collected from Exchange Members providing Sharia Online Trading System (AB-SOTS) services, in the last five years the number of sharia investors has increased by more than 240% from 44,536 investors in 2018 to 151,560 investors as of July 2024 with an activity level reaching 14.1%. The process of simplifying the opening of RDN accounts is expected to further increase public interest in sharia investment.
As a series of these activities, educational activities and financial inclusion of the sharia capital market were also carried out for BCA Syariah employees, which were delivered by representatives of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. In the activity, participants gain an understanding of the basic introduction to the capital market and transaction utilization in HPX, an online trading platform owned by Henan Securities. It is hoped that this financial education and inclusion activity can increase participants' understanding of the benefits of investing so that it can stimulate the Indonesian sharia stock market.
