Maintaining Growth Momentum, BCA Syariah's Net Profit Grows by 34.5% in 2022

Jakarta, March 21, 2023 - PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) concluded its performance in 2022 with positive growth in assets, Third Party Funds (DPK), and financing. BCA Syariah managed to sustain continuous growth, achieving a net profit of IDR 117.6 trillion in December 2022, representing a growth of 34.5% compared to the previous year (YoY). This was highlighted in the BCA Syariah 2022 Performance Presentation titled 'Move Faster, Grow Stronger' in Jakarta (3/21/2023).

In his presentation, BCA Syariah Director Pranata stated, "BCA Syariah has demonstrated positive performance, maintaining sustainable growth marked by solid financial positions, adequate liquidity, and preserved asset quality."

Solid growth is reflected in the company's asset growth in December 2022, reaching IDR 12.7 trillion, an increase of 19.1% compared to December 2021 at IDR 10.6 trillion. This growth was supported by the increase in DPK, recorded at IDR 9.5 trillion in December 2022, a 23.5% YoY increase.

The growth in DPK was accompanied by an increase in BCA Syariah's CASA composition to 38.6% of the total DPK, reaching IDR 3.7 trillion. The growth in CASA was supported by the increase in current accounts (Giro) in December 2022, reaching IDR 2.1 trillion, a 73.9% YoY growth. Meanwhile, savings reached IDR 1.5 trillion, growing by 13.3% YoY.

Yuli Melati Suryaningrum added, "We are grateful that BCA Syariah was able to leverage the economic growth momentum with strong performance and sustainable growth. Increasing low-cost funds was our strategy in 2022. We continue to drive various service development initiatives in delivery channels and digitally to attract the public to place their funds in BCA Syariah. Thus, we can manage funding costs for more expansive and competitive financing distribution in the market."

Financing distribution performed well in all sectors, including commercial, consumer, and SME financing. Commercial financing reached IDR 5.4 trillion in December 2022, growing by 17.5%, with the largest portfolio in the manufacturing, agriculture and plantation, and wholesale trade industries. Financing for SMEs continued to be increased as part of BCA Syariah's commitment to inclusive financing. By the end of 2022, SME financing reached IDR 1.7 trillion, growing by 21.6%, making up 22.8% of BCA Syariah's total financing. Financing distribution was accompanied by efforts to manage financing quality, resulting in Non Performing Financing (NPF) being maintained at 1.42% gross and 0.01% net. Restructured financing also showed a decreasing trend, with Financing at Risk (FaR) at 13.0%, improving by 5.0% compared to December 2021 at 18.0%.

BCA Syariah's consumer financing segment showed the highest growth in 2022. Consumer financing grew expansively by 101.2%, reaching IDR 420.8 billion. The highest composition of consumer financing came from KPR iB, growing by 194.5% YoY to IDR 208.1 billion. The growth in consumer financing was supported by feature development, flexible margin options tailored to customer needs, and joint marketing initiatives with the parent company through strategic events such as BCA Expo.

To balance business and environmental sustainability, BCA Syariah also directed financing towards sustainable business activities. As of December 2022, BCA Syariah's financing for Sustainable Business Activities (KUB) reached IDR 2.6 trillion, a 29.8% YoY increase, making up 34.2% of BCA Syariah's total financing in 2022. Financing was distributed across 6 KUB sectors. In terms of composition, KUB financing for the SME segment amounted to IDR 1.7 trillion, equivalent to 66.8%, and IDR 858.4 billion, or 33.2%, was directed to non-SME environmentally conscious business activities.

"2022 marked a new milestone for BCA Syariah in terms of our commitment to Sustainable Finance. We have formulated policies and sustainability strategies that encompass business strategies, governance, and human resource capacity enhancement. This is our commitment to maintaining a balance between people, profit, and the planet and supporting SDGs," Yuli added.

In 2023, BCA Syariah will leverage the positive momentum and anticipate lingering economic uncertainties by implementing effective asset and liability management strategies. BCA Syariah will remain focused on increasing CASA acquisition through IT capability enhancement, delivery channel development, and expansive yet measured financing distribution, emphasizing prudent principles. We target growth in the range of 9-11% for assets and 17-19% for profits," Yuli concluded.
