BCA Syariah Records 20.9% Profit Growth
Jakarta, July 31, 2024 – PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) once again presented the company's positive performance achievements until June 2024 in a media update activity themed "Enhance Quality Growth" delivered by the BCA Syariah Board of Directors to the media at the BCA Syariah Head Office, Jakarta (7/31/2024).

In semester 1-2024, BCA Syariah managed to maintain financial performance that continued to grow sustainably with total asset growth of 11.5% annually (YoY) reaching IDR14.9 trillion. BCA Syariah's success in maintaining positive performance was also demonstrated by the achievement of a net profit of IDR89.4 billion which grew 20.9% YoY.
President Director of BCA Syariah Yuli Melati Suryaningrum said, "BCA Syariah's profit growth was driven by balanced asset and liability management from quality financing distribution and technology acceleration that encouraged the collection of third-party funds."
BCA Syariah financing distribution in semester 1-2024 was recorded to have grown by 21.0% to reach IDR9.5 trillion. Financing growth occurred in all segments, including commercial, consumer and MSME. The commercial financing portfolio is still the main contributor to BCA Syariah financing distribution with a composition of 68.8% of the total financing of IDR6.6 trillion. Followed by the MSME financing portfolio with a composition of 19.5% of the total financing of IDR1.9 trillion. Meanwhile, consumer financing grew by 91.1% or twice as much compared to the same period the previous year.
Effective financing distribution and carried out with the principle of prudence is reflected in the quality of financing which is maintained at a low level. Gross Non-Performing Financing (NPF) was recorded at 1.36% and net 0.18%.
In addition to growth in financing distribution, BCA Syariah also recorded growth in Third Party Funds (DPK). DPK increased by 11.9% YoY to IDR11.2 trillion annually, compared to the same period the previous year, so that CASA acquisition reached 36.3% of total DPK.
BCA Syariah Director Pranata said, "The ease of opening an account online through BCA Syariah mobile banking has significantly driven customer growth. The latest feature from BCA Syariah Mobile has contributed to customer growth reaching 140.6% annually".
Customer digital transactions show an increasing trend along with the development of transaction features and promotional activities carried out through BCA Syariah mobile banking. In terms of composition, mobile banking transactions reached 67.8% of total customer transactions. As of June 2024, the frequency of BCA Syariah mobile banking transactions grew significantly to 6.5 million transactions, growing 62.7% annually. From time to time BCA Syariah continues to complement its mobile banking features so that they are always relevant to customer needs.
A number of other financial ratios also show strong performance. Return on Asset (ROA) and Return of Equity (ROE) showed growth compared to the previous year, reaching 1.7% and 5.8% respectively. Bank liquidity is still maintained at an optimal level as reflected by the FDR which is at 84.8%.
Amidst the company's business growth, BCA Syariah is committed to maintaining harmony between the company's profitability and the Bank's contribution to a sustainable economy by channeling financing to Sustainable Business Activity (KUB) sectors. The KUB financing portfolio as of June 2024 reached IDR2.6 trillion, an increase of 5.3% YoY, which was distributed to 6 KUB categories including eco-efficient products of IDR363.4 billion, energy efficiency of IDR242.7 billion, management of natural resources & sustainable land use of IDR117.07 billion, prevention and control of pollution of IDR15.3 billion, environmentally friendly transportation of IDR2.7 billion, sustainable water & wastewater management of IDR2.3 billion, and MSME activities of IDR1.9 trillion.
President Director of BCA Syariah Yuli Melati Suryaningrum said, "We are committed to maintaining a balance between people, profit and planet, including by supporting sustainable business sectors. Until June 2024, the composition of KUB BCA Syariah financing distribution was 27.3% of the total financing we distributed".
Other sustainability commitments are also shown in various forms of contributions to both the community and the environment through the three pillars of BCA Syariah Peduli, namely BCA Syariah Peduli Prestasi which has educated more than 8 thousand participants from various segments ranging from students, students, MSMEs and professionals; Peduli Sejahtera program with training and mentoring programs for business actors and various activities of Peduli Sosial program for the benefit of the community and the environment.
