BCA Syariah Inspires the Spirit of Saving Among Hundreds of Students in Aceh

Banda Aceh, September 28, 2023 - PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) continues to encourage the efforts of Indonesian society to save from an early age by organizing educational activities for 500 kindergarten students in the Aceh region. This activity is the result of collaboration between BCA Syariah and the Association of Early Childhood Educators and Education Personnel of Indonesia (HIMPAUDI), held at the AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Banda Aceh, on Thursday (28/09/2023), and attended by 76 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Kindergarten (TK) schools in the city of Banda Aceh.

This activity is part of Sharia banking education for children attended by 500 students from 76 PAUD and TK schools in the city of Banda Aceh.

The Head of BCA Syariah Aceh Branch, Heri Hermawan, said, "The culture of saving must become a habit and awareness of investment for the future of the younger generation. Through this event, we want to introduce children to sharia bank savings products in the form of activities they enjoy, such as drawing, coloring, gymnastics, and children's creativity stage. This effort is also our support for the One Account One Student Program (KEJAR) initiated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK)," said Heri.

Through a series of initiatives carried out by BCA Syariah, the growth in the number of children's savings accounts (under 17 years old) is increasing. Until August 2023, the total children's savings in BCA Syariah has reached 26,498, growing by 208% compared to August 2022. For the Aceh province region, the acquisition of student accounts reached 993 accounts, growing by 106% compared to the previous year.

For its active role and contribution to promoting the savings culture for students, BCA Syariah received an award from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in August as the "Best KEJAR (One Account One Student) Implementation Bank" in the Sharia Bank category, at the celebration of Indonesian Savings Day 2023 held in conjunction with the National Rover Scouts Raimuna XII 2023 event in Jakarta (21/8/2023).

BCA Syariah also consistently promotes educational activities through the BCA Syariah Teaches program, which has educated 2,755 participants ranging from kindergarten students, students, to professionals in various BCA Syariah branch regions. In the educational activities conducted, BCA Syariah encourages the culture of saving from an early age, introduces the basics of financial management, and also introduces various savings product solutions for the younger generation and students, including SimPel iB (Student Savings iB), Tahapan Rencana iB, and Tahapan Mabrur iB. These products can be utilized by the younger generation to practice saving discipline, learn about investing, and prepare funds for Hajj/Umrah pilgrimage.
