BCA Syariah increases sharia financial literacy and inclusion for women
Jakarta, March 8, 2025 - PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) supports Women Festive to increase literacy and inclusion of sharia products and services held at Balai Kartini, Jakarta (8-9/3). Held in conjunction with the commemoration of International Women's Day which is celebrated every March 8, BCA Syariah presents various activities that combine elements of Islamic studies to meet the spiritual and financial needs of women and young mothers.
Women Festive is an Islamic study activity specifically aimed at women. This activity targets 4000 visitors with the age of 20 to 45 years with. In this event, Women Festive raised the theme "Soulful Ramadan".
For two days, this activity invited well-known female preachers (ustadzah) to share knowledge and answer problems experienced by women such as mental health, family, career and others. Among them: Mamah Dedeh, Elly Risman Musa, dr. Aisyah Dahlan, Ummu Khadijah Peggy and others.
President Director of BCA Syariah Yuli Melati Suryaningrum said, "BCA Syariah supports women's empowerment. To become an empowered woman, women need to have a financial understanding so that they can manage finances well for themselves and their families. This activity is a very good community for women to get a support system among women so that they can share and strengthen each other. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported the results of the 2024 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK). The results of the survey said that the sharia financial literacy index of women is higher than that of men in 2023. The Islamic financial literacy index for women was recorded at 40.45 percent, while for men it was lower at 37.78 percent. Meanwhile, the Islamic financial inclusion index for women was recorded at 13.31 percent and for men at 12.4%.
Women Festive is the right event to foster the inclusion of Islamic banking products, especially for women. Improving digital services through BSya mobile banking is one of the company's strategies to increase customer growth and obtain low-cost funds. Customer confidence in placing funds in BCA Syariah is reflected in the growth of low-cost funds as of December 2024 of 19.4% compared to the previous year (YoY) reaching IDR 4.9 trillion or reaching 37.8% of the total third-party funds recorded at IDR 13 trillion. "Improving mobile banking services is still BCA Syariah's strategy to encourage the growth of low-cost funds. This year we are targeting deposit growth to reach 10-12% in 2025," Yuli added.
